Abstract

The present article has a twofold purpose. First, it reviews the textual problem posed by the emendations that have been made to Quevedo's sonnet Amor constante más allá de la muerte. Second, it addresses the philosophical background of the aforementioned poem, regarding the notions of body, soul and posthumous love. Also, the article points out the uniqueness of Quevedo transforming the paradigm of love after death, more consonant with classical ideas than with neoplatonic and Petrarchan models.
