The Monarchy of Spain Put to Test in the Seventeenth Century: Analysis of Some Explanatory Keys of Her Resilience

Abstract

In this work we propose to make some reflections on the situation of the Monarchy of Spain in a period defined as especially critical (the seventeenth century). We will do so taking as reference our own research as well as publications on the subject that, in recent years, have proposed to review the problems that affected this political body taking in account new perspectives, with the aim of contributing to the demystification of some analytical categories that have been applied to the period.
